ROYAL ELEGANCE
I was leafing through The Queen's Jewels by Leslie Field a couple of years ago and was quite taken with the glamorous Godman diamond and emerald necklace. It's a little over the top for the average person of course, but I loved the shape and size of the graduated drops.

So I made this version of wire wrapped, open drops for those of us on a slightly smaller budget than Her Majesty. The drops graduate in size and are topped with tourmaline ovals, amethyst and fluorite rounds, and textured sterling silver beads. The colors - jewel pink, clear violet, pale green, and silver - were derived from the early morning alpenglow on the snow capped mountains behind my childhood home.

The tutorial for this piece was published in Step by Step Wire Jewelry in Winter 2008 and can be purchased from the Interweave Store for $4.00.
